Summer Immersion Camp Schedule. Call to enroll:

Summer Immersion – The cornerstone of summer lessons at Kirk’s Studio. An amazing approach to accelerating your progress. An hour a day for a week with your private instructor. It’s like your own private, summer music camp. Most students will make two months’ progress per session. We encourage every student to do at least one session of Immersion.
Weeks available: Every week with the exception of the 4th of July.
Tuition – $295
Early bird discounts avail before May 13.

Immersion Plus – For students wanting a little extra out of their Immersion experience. All students who do Immersion either before or after the Immersion Plus block, will either stay an extra hour or arrive an hour before their private lessons. This Master Class will focus on performance and musicianship. Every student will perform and receive master coaching on the performance. Talk about a great way to really hone your skills! Week culminates with a recording of each student’s performance. Select weeks available. Call for schedule. Just $55!

Piano Academy I – For beginning piano students. We’ll have lots of fun while learning to read notes and rhythms, play more musically and how to practice correctly. We’ll even do some ear training, theory, improvisation and learn some really cool approaches to playing the piano. Be able to play a popular song by the end of the week!

Piano Academy II – For intermediate and advanced piano students. For two hours a day, we’ll help you make more progress than you ever thought possible. Focus on technique, theory, improvisation, chords, jazz voicings, soloing and how to practice correctly! If you’ve been dying to learn how to play something in addition to classical music, this is the camp you’ve been waiting for!

Chart Reading Camp Open to all levels and abilities on July 13-17 from 10 am- 12pm. Discover the amazing secret that separates the professionals from the amateurs. The crazy thing is that it’s easier than reading notes!

Guitar Camp I – Just getting started on guitar? Join us for this fun, lively, 2-hour class to get you up and running and provide you with a needed summer boost. We’ll make sure that what you’re learning will help you with whatever style of music you’d like to play.

(Ages 8 and up, no previous experience is necessary). This is a great class to introduce students to the basics of guitar and the possibilities associated with playing the instrument. We will explore a variety of musical and guitar concepts such as picking, strumming, chords, chord progressions to blues and popular songs, notes in first position, simple melodies, improvising, and scales. Students will also get a chance to play as a group and with recordings.

June 8-12, 12:30pm-2:30pm, July 6-10 12:30pm-2:30pm, with Mr. Michael Ferraro Tuition – $120

Guitar Camp II – Ready to take your shredding to the next level? This camp is designed for students who have at least a year or more of private lessons. Find out the secrets of some of your guitar idols and take your playing up a notch or two. More advanced work with picking, barre chords, fretboard work, finger tapping and a variety of styles. All participants will perform together and individually at the end of the camp.
Tuition – $140

Rock University – For all ages, some experience very helpful. Monday: Songwriting clinic, divide into groups, pick a band name, a cover song and start writing an original song. Tuesday: individual instrumental clinics. Wednesday: workshop for all campers and parents, “So You Have a Band…Now What?” Thursday: Recording Studio! Friday: Finale Concert for friends and family.

Songwriting Camp – One of the best ways to improve as a songwriter is to “pitch” your songs to others. Not only will students learn tips and tricks to hone their craft, but they’ll receive feedback from the pros. We’ll also cover recording basics and show you how to record and print your own original music at home!
June 15-19, 10am-12pm with Mr. Billy Cioffi. Tuition – $120

Camp Gleeful – If you love to move and break out into spontaneous song then this is the camp for you! Join us for this three-hour camp to sing, dance and have a great time. The camp will be divided into age appropriate groups and will culminate in a performance for friends and family!
June 29th-July 3rd with Mrs. Lauren Berman. Tuition – $195

Disney Princess Camp – We know you love to sing along with the movies, so why not spend a week learning some of your favorite Disney songs with the other princesses of Kirk’s Studio? Our week of fun and make believe will culminate in a performance for your family and friends, so dust off your tiara and join us for a week of singing!

July 6th-July 10th, 12pm – 2pm with Mrs. Lauren Berman

Musical Theater Audition Camp – Planning to audition for the school musical next year? Getting involved in community productions? Spend your summer getting prepared for anything they might throw at you! Participants will prepare two contrasting vocal selections and a monologue prior to camp, we will work to fine tune your selections in addition to practicing cold readings and dance auditions. At the end of the week, each camper will do a “mock audition” to show us what they can do! Ages 12 and up!

July 13th-July 17th, 12pm – 2pm with Mrs. Lauren Berman

Actor’s Workshop – If you’ve caught the acting bug then this is the camp for you! Come unleash your inner star while at the same time learning some important acting techniques. Some of the tools you’ll be learning are: Character development, scene analysis, reacting vs. acting and The Acting Pyramid. This is an exciting opportunity to develop yourself into the theatrical genius that you always knew you were!

Brass/Winds I – Always wanted to try trumpet? flute? clarinet? trombone? Just starting on a band instrument? Want to get a leg up on your competition when you get into band class when school starts back up? This is the class for you. Extremely valuable for parents of first-time band students as well.

Brass/Winds II – Been playing for a year or two? If you’re ready to progress to a new level, come join us for a super fun week of brass and winds! All instruments welcome: trumpet, trombone, tuba, french horn, flute, clarinet, saxophone and more. By the end of the week you’ll be playing some really cool songs with some really cool musicians.

Summer Strings – All string instruments are invited so if you play violin, viola, cello or bass, be sure you come to this fun camp to learn different styles while playing with a group. Beginner to intermediate students welcome.

Violin and Viola Festival – Come ready to learn and have a lot of fun! This festival will include master classes, workshops on how to get the most out of your practice, an opportunity to learn fiddle or world music, improvisation for string players, theory and ear training games, as well as technique workshops.
Week of June 22nd-26th, 9-11am, Scottsdale Studio & 12-2pm at the Desert Ridge Studio, $150 with Ms. Alisha Moss

String Rock Band – The String Rock Band would welcome any string player who is interested in playing pop music. We would offer a beginner group and an intermediate-advanced group. Each group would work on the same songs and at the end of the week we would all come together to rehearse for a potential performance. The music would already be arranged for each group depending on the instrumentation of who signs up. It will be a fun way to play popular music on a classical instrument.

Fiddle Camp –Open to any violin player who would like to learn how to fiddle. We’ll break out the Celtic tunes and old-time fiddle tunes ranging from beginner to advanced. Time to kick off those high-heeled shoes and put on your boots!

Drum Line – This is a percussion camp for everyone who can’t get enough drums. We’ll work on beats on drum kit, drum corps and even spend a day playing steel drums. One of our most popular camps. You don’t have to be a drummer to get a lot out of this camp. Recommended for all students.

  • Day 3) Introduction to jazz and blues drumming.
  • Day4) Drum tuning and intro to live performance
  • Day 5) Drum soloing and recording techniques,and drumming in studio.
